Unity for the team at Hot Black inspires so many avenues conceptually; Dorcas & King reflects not only a unity between junctions in one of South Melbourne’ most recognisable areas but also engages in the ideals of unifying the local community of 209 Kings Way.
The site comprises of a double voided ceiling height and an encompassing beer garden which allowed for dominant design details to celebrate the unique site. A contrast between materials; timber and concrete included in the materiality to represent the two elements adjoining with a strong focus to highlight the unity of the materials with bold design details.
